“Shh!” Tarrant says. She leans against the tree and sighs. “I didn’t do much, other than say it was fun. You’re the one who chose to follow me.” She says.

She looks over to see Tar leaning back with her eyes closed. “You’re missing the view with your eyes shut, silly head!” She’s grinning from ear to ear.
“No, I’m not,” Is the whispered reply. “I’m listening. You know, there are spirits all around us, and they only speak at certain times… Besides, it feels nice up here.”

“Oh. I see. Well, I’ll miss you, Tom… you were my first boyfriend, and I really enjoyed the time we spent together. I’ll be gone before you know it.” She jogs off to her bedroom and starts to gather her things.

He stares at her “24/7? Tarrant, you haven’t been around for weeks! I haven’t been trying? I’m the only one that tries! I bought a house, I got a car, and a job. I made friends with your mother, a woman that doesn’t trust, and pretty much hates me, because you wanted me to! I took care of baby you for a few day because the two of you wanted me to. What brought this on is that I put my heart and soul into a relationship with you, and you give nothing back! And I’m done. I’m just done.”
Tarrant sighs. “I… I’m sorry. You’re absolutely right. I’ve been selfish, and undeserving, and… and you deserve much better than me. I’ll get my things and go.” She turns around to walk away before a thought strikes her. “Wait. Before I go, you should have this back.” She walks back over and takes his ring off of her finger. “And, I need to know… Is there any hope of working things out?”

Hello, everyone! I'm Tarrant Hope Hightopp, daughter of Wonder Malice Hightopp (and, unknown to her, The Dark One). I have an older brother named Alice. Anyways, you may have heard that we made a deal with Time. We're trying to help our mother with her depression, and get to know her while she's still young.
